1. No TV during and after dinner. Many of us have a nasty little habit of eating dinner in front of the TV and not only that, but we keep on eating even after we are done with our meal. If this is how you would describe your evenings, you’ve just found one of the main reasons why you are overweight. In order to stop this from happening, you need to turn off the TV and eat dinner with your family. This way, by talking AND eating, you will have a lower calorie intake, which will help you lose weight.

2. Increase your activity level. Nowadays, a lot of people work by sitting behind a desk eight hours a day. If you are one of these people, I must tell you that you won’t lose any weight just by being idle. But there is something you can do in order to change things. For example, take 10-minute breaks, pretend that you have to go somewhere and take the stairs to stretch your legs.

3. Get professional help. If you have limited time on your hands and you need to lose weight as fast as possible because of various reasons, you must hire a personal trainer, one that inspires trust and can keep you motivated. If you can’t afford professional help, find a friend or a family member who is also overweight, this way you can share the expenses. Another good thing about sharing is that it’s a good way to start working out, because your sessions won’t be so intense.

4. Surround yourself with positive attitude. Weight loss can be very difficult if your friends keep trying to tempt you with unhealthy food. But if you want to change your way of life, you must also get new friends, if the old ones are making life difficult for you. Or, here’s another idea: join a support group or buy a gym membership and resort to their help every time you feel like you are going to give up.

5. Do cardio to accelerate weight loss. It can be any kind of physical activity, as long as you can get you heart rate up to 120 BPM. By doing so you will start the fat burning process and the longer you work out, the more fat you’ll burn. Just make sure that you do so before breakfast and as I said, it can be anything, from walking the dog to doing the laundry while listening to your favorite songs.

6. Just dance. This is a great way of losing weight and stress, but chances are that you already knew this. Just in case you didn’t know, dancing will help you get rid of those extra pounds and no matter where you are, in the club or home alone, do it as long as you enjoy it, because it will make you slim and happy at the same time.

7. Use the tape measure to note your progress. In case you didn’t arrive to the same conclusion, the scale doesn’t offer much encouragement if you are eating healthy and working out, because all you are doing is replacing fat with muscle. So, if you want to know exactly how much weight you’ve lost and where you’ve lost it from, use the tape measure.
